Afghanistan is not responsible for ‘security failure’ of Pakistan: Mujahid

By Fidel Rahmati in the Khaama Press online, August 9, 2023
The de facto administration of Afghanistan once again has rejected the repeated allegations of the Pakistani officials and said that Afghanistan is not responsible for the “failure of any regional country’s security.”

Zabihulla Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Taliban-led government, said that following recent attacks in Pakistan, Pakistani authorities once again blamed Afghans rather than strengthening their country’s security.

“The government of Afghanistan reiterates its principled stance that it does not permit the use of Afghanistan’s territory against the security of any other country, but this does not imply that Afghanistan is accountable for any country in the region’s failure to maintain security,” the statement reads.

The remarks came a day after General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, said that the “involvement of Afghan nationals” in terrorism attacks in Pakistan was “detrimental to regional peace and stability.”

Meanwhile, Munir said Pakistan’s insecurity did not benefit the region and stressed that he would stop terrorist activities and protect Pakistani citizens.

In addition, he warned the Taliban authorities and said, “Pakistan will spare no effort to dismantle terrorist network and protect its citizens at all costs.”

However, Mujahid added that Pakistan should carefully manage its security situation and find a solution at home.

He also pointed out that 18 militants from Pakistan who were part of Daesh and had carried out attacks and bombings in the country were killed in various operations in Afghanistan. He continued by saying that several dozen more were captured.

“Instead of pointing the finger of blame at the Pakistani side, the Afghan government has strengthened its security measures. It is worth mentioning that if someone attacks in Pakistan or the blood of the Muslims of Afghanistan and Pakistan are shed in the name of Daesh, a solution should be found together; blaming is not the solution,” the statement further said. https://www.khaama.com/afghanistan-is-not-responsible-for-security-failure-of-pakistan-mujahid/
