Afghanistan Education System Should be Adjusted to Pakistan’s Curriculum: IEA Minister

By Nizamuddin Rezahi in Khaama Press, March 12, 2023
Taliban’s Acting Minister of Public Health Dr. Qalandar Ebad, in a recorded video, says the ruling regime wants to modify Afghanistan’s education system, particularly medical sciences, according to Pakistan’s curriculum.

The recorded video has already gone viral on social media. Some social media experts have criticized Minister Ebad’s remarks about modifying Afghanistan’s education system to that of Pakistan.

Taliban Minister’s comments about changing Afghanistan’s education system based on Pakistan curriculum came out, as the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), recently released a video attributed to the Taliban Supreme leader. In the video, Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada clearly says that “Pakistan laws are un-Islamic”.

The Supreme leader further states that as of now British law is practiced in Pakistan, and approved by the judges, which is un-Islamic and illegal.

Dr. Ebad traveled to Islamabad last May. During the visit, he met with high-ranking Pakistani officials including Mohammad Sadiq, former special representative of Pakistan for Afghanistan, and the founder of Shifa International Hospital.

Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s former envoy for Afghanistan had said that Khyber Medical University (KMU) intends to launch medical faculties in Afghanistan to help improve the healthcare services in this country. “The university has graduated hundreds of Afghan doctors so far,” Mohammad Sadiq said.

Taliban Ministry of Public Health in an announcement in May said that Qalandar Ebad had agreed with the representatives of Shifa International Hospital to establish its branches in Kabul and other zones of Afghanistan, and train Afghan healthcare employees accordingly.

As an immediate neighbor, Pakistan tries its best to take the advantage of the presented economic opportunity in Afghanistan be it in healthcare, education, telecommunication, trade, and transit. Since the overthrow of the previous government, Pakistan has maintained close ties with Afghanistan’s de facto authorities and even has lobbied for practical engagement with the Taliban on regional and global stages. https://www.khaama.com/afghanistan-education-system-should-be-adjusted-to-pakistans-curriculum-iea-minister/
