The Afghan intelligence operatives foiled a coordinated attack plot in Mehtarlam city, the provincial capital eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said a group 6 terrorists belonging to the Taliban group were arrested in connection to the attack plot.
A statement by NDS said the group was led by Rahmatullah and the other detained militants have been identified as Habib-ur-Rehman also known as Bidar son of Nik Mohammad, Syed Yaqoob son of Syed Hussain, Abdul Saboor son of Shah Mohammad, Ghorftan son of Mohammad Anwar, and Zahidullah son f Abdul Wahid.
NDS in its statement further added that the group was appointed by Taliban leader Abdul Wahid to carry out a coordinated attack in Mehtarlam city.
The Afghan intelligence operatives also confiscated 3 Ak-47 rifles with 18 magazines, 2 pistols, 2 binoculars, and some other military equipment.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
