Afghan army and Taliban suffer heavy casualties amid soaring violence By KHAAMA PRESS – Mon Jul 25 2016

The Afghan National Army and Taliban militants have suffered heavy casualties amid soaring violence across the country.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) released the latest casualties of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces, putting the death to 9 soldiers.

MoD in its operation update further added that 53 militants were also killed and 16 others were wounded while 3 more were arrested during the operations.

The statement by MoD further added that the operations were conducted jointly by the Afghan ground forces, artillery units and the Afghan Air Force.

According to MoD, at least 23 militants were killed in Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz and 6 militants fighting for ISIS terrorist group were killed in Achin district of Nangarhar.

MoD further added that 5 militants were killed in Yahya Khel district of Paktika, 3 militants were killed Char Asiab and Mosahi districts of Kabul and another militant was killed and 2 more were wounded during the operations in Zabul and Kandahar prvinces.
