QUETTA: The unknown armed men gunned down an advocate and injured his colleague in Mastung town area of Balochistan on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the victim identified as Muhammad Waris Advocate along with his colleague Haji Habibullah was on way to the Session Court from his house when armed assailants opened fire at them and fled from the scene near Major Chowk area.
As a result, Muhammad Waris died on the spot after receiving bulled injuries while his friend sustained injuries.
Police on information reached the site and shifted the body and the injured to nearby hospital where the injured victim’s treatment was started. The body of the deceased was handed over to the heirs after completion of medico legal formalities. Police sources said the motive behind the attack could not be ascertained immediately.

Dacoits kill police constable, injure Rangers officials at Indus Highway

SUKKUR: A police constable was martyred and three officials of Pakistan Rangers were wounded when armed dacoits opened fire on their vehicles patrolling the Indus Highway at around 10.00pm on Tuesday night.
Sources said the outlaws managed to escape after the attack. Writing head constable Khalid Hussain Abro, posted at Gabloo police station, died on the spot and Rangers officials, Mohammad Rafique, Fazal Usman and Ali Sher sustained critical wounds.
The dead body and the wounded were taken to taluka hospital where doctors stabilised the wounded and shifted them to Sukkur Civil Hospital due to their precarious condition.
The sources said that Sindh IGP Rafat Muthtiar Raja took notice of the incident and directed DIG Larkana Range to take action against the assailants and eliminate the criminal gangs operating in Kandhkot-Kashmore area.
