Abdullah dismiss speculations about planned hand over of districts to militants KHAAMA PRESS – Thu Mar 03 2016, 3:03 pm

The Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah dismissed speculations about the planned hand over of certain districts to the anti-government armed militant groups.

Speaking during a joint session of the Afghan parliament and cabinet of ministers, Abdullah said the speculations have been rife since the security institutions have started shifting certain security posts to the central bases in some provinces.

The session was also attended by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, members of the parliament and cabinet ministers.

Abdullah further added that the retreat of the security posts are being done based on a decision made during the national security council meeting, where it was it was decided that the security posts would not be able to defend the militants attacks.

He said the retreat will help to defend the central bases, district government compounds and main military bases.

Abdullah also expressed concerns regarding the inappropriate reflection of certain affairs in media which the anti-government armed militants are using in their favor, citing the lack of coordination and lack of information certain ministers and the parliament members are having.

This comes as serious disagreements were reported between the Afghan government and Afghan parliament during the current Afghan year.

The differences led to the rejection of certain legislative decrees issued by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani which reportedly had links with the ongoing differences between the government and parliament members.http://www.khaama.com/abdullah-dismiss-speculations-about-planned-hand-over-of-districts-to-militants-0238
