LAHORE: Former prime minister and PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday met several former parliamentarians, including ex-senator Waqar Ahmed and PMLN KP President Ameer Muqam. Both congratulated him on his acquittal in the Ashiana Iqbal reference.
The leaders discussed the overall situation and preparations for the general elections. Shehbaz said that under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, the PMLN always lived up to the trust and expectations of the nation. The PMLN’s first challenge is to provide relief to people from inflation and end economic miseries. Waqar appreciated Shehbaz’s efforts to save Pakistan from default during his 16 months as the prime minister.
In another meeting, former assembly members Makhdoom Mubeen Alam, Makhdoom Masood Alam, Mubeen Zaman and Basit Sultan Bukhari announced joining the PMLN and expressed confidence in Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. Talking to them, Shehbaz said the PMLN would present the gift of economic development to people.
