ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Thursday blasted the ‘guarantee’ of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and continuation of the family tradition of conspiring against democracy and the Constitution under the ‘London Agreement’.
In a statement issued here, he alleged that Nawaz Sharif’s ‘fake political life’, introduced as a project in politics, was a collection of humiliating ‘deals and guarantees’. “PMLN’s humiliating journey is from ‘Vote ko izzat do [Give respect to vote] narrative to ‘Hamari baat ho gayi hai’ [We’ve reached an agreement],” he charged. He alleged that Nawaz was a man who grew up in the nursery of a military dictator, and who played a key role in every conspiracy against Pakistan’s democracy and constitution. “Sometimes for his (Nawaz) personal interests, and sometimes for the sake of power, this person has been part of all undemocratic and unconstitutional conspiracies,” the PTI spokesperson alleged.
“Nawaz Sharif’s only job, who entered politics unnaturally during Ziaul Haq’s martial law, was to harm democracy and the Constitution.
“His entire history of undemocratic misdeeds has become part of formal history in the form of the Asghar Khan case verdict,” he pointed out.
“The criminal who looted the nation’s money by grabbing power under the deals and NRO from Musharraf and Bajwa,” he alleged, “is once again being prepared for robbery”. The statement said that a new stream of extra-constitutional and legal patronage was available to the eternal violator of the Constitution and democracy. The spokesman hoped that the nation would hold the person’s strict accountability, who had looted the country for several decades and conspired against democracy.
