On Tuesday, Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi departed from Kabul to attend the third Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation in China.
The forum is being held in Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province, China. This visit comes as part of diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties and promote economic cooperation, regional connectivity, and ecological changes among the Himalayan region nations.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the deputy spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said on social media platform X that Muttaqi had received an official invitation from China.
In addition to Acting Foreign Minister Muttaqi, the Afghan delegation includes Dr. Abdulatif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, and several other officials.
The Afghan Foreign Ministry has highlighted that the forum will focus on critical topics such as economic cooperation, regional integration, and ecological developments within the Himalayan countries.
This underscores the event’s significance in fostering collaboration and addressing shared concerns among countries in the Himalayan region, ultimately contributing to stability and progress in this vital part of the world.
