Two temples in Dhaka’s Nawabganj upazila were vandalised by unidentified miscreants on Saturday night.
The incident took place at Bhurakhali village located on the bordering area between Nawabganj and Manikganj’s Singair.
“The Kali temple was set on fire around 11:30pm. It was partially damaged as locals doused the fire immediately,” said Ananda Bepari, president of the temple’s management committee. After a few minutes, three idols were vandalised in another temple located about a hundred yards away.
Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Nawabganj Police Station, said they are looking into the incident.
