Security Incidents in Pakistan Due to Internal Problems: Haqqani

The acting Interior Minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani, said that the recent incidents in Pakistan are due to its internal problems, which Islamabad itself should address.

He warned that if Pakistan seeks to solve its issues by force through Afghanistan, the interests of citizens of both countries will be harmed.

“If they want to solve this issue through force, certainly– the nations of Afghanistan and Pakistan, which have many mutual interests– all of these interests will be harmed,” he said.

Speaking at a gathering in Uruzgan, where he arrived on Sunday, Haqqani accused the international community of not fulfilling their promises of “humanity.”

He said that the Islamic Emirate has been able to solve its problems even if it has not been recognized by the international community.

“Still, we are telling the world that we don’t bully you and we don’t want to compete with you but thank God, either it was an atomic bomb, B 52 or… your belief is not stronger than mine. May God not ruin this belief of mine,” he said.

Speaking at the same gathering, the tribal elders and religious clerics called on the interior ministry to pay for the implementation of development projects.

“May our people find work and Afghanistan be developed again. This is our wish,” said Sayed Mohammad, a tribal elder.

“We don’t have a clinic or a hospital– nothing — and we are facing a lot of struggles,” said Khaliqdad, a religious cleric.
