QUETTA: Interim Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Domki on Sunday engaged in discussions with concerned authorities and senior colleagues to finalise the names of his caretaker cabinet members as sources said the process will conclude on Monday (today).
Sources have reported that over the past 48 hours, numerous individuals from various political parties and sectors have met with Domki.
It is anticipated that the cabinet members will take their oath on Monday (today).
According to insiders, the cabinet will be completed in two phases, with approximately 12 ministers being inducted in the first phase. Additionally, a female minister will also be included in the interim cabinet. In the second phase, more people will be appointed as ministers.
Different political parties, such as the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Awami National Party (ANP), and the Jam group, are actively endeavouring to secure the inclusion of their candidates in the cabinet.
The ministries being eyed are Planning and Development, Finance, Communication and Works, Irrigation, Public Health Engineering, Health, and Agriculture.
Sources have disclosed that JUI-F and the Jam Kamal Khan group are expected to be major beneficiaries, as they played a significant role in the selection of Mir Ali Mardan Domki as the interim chief minister.
The circulated names for the cabinet predominantly consist of new faces, but some old guards are also in contention. These include Prince Ahmed Ali Ahmedzai, Ramaeen Muhammad Hasni, Shakeel Durrani, Amjad Rasheed, Agha Umar Bangulzai, Sajid Dashti, Molvi Mohibullah, Jan Achakzai, Obaid Gorgage, Sardar Fareed Dummar, and Atta-ul-Haq.
