The Janamat Party joined the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government for the second time on Monday.
President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath to newly-appointed minister Anita Devi Sah. She has been assigned to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Speaker Devraj Ghimire and National Assembly chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina among others were present at the oath-taking ceremony at the President’s Office.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) on Sunday removed Aman Lal Modi from the ministerial position to create a space for a minister from Janamat Party.
An office bearers’ meeting of the ruling Maoist party decided to recall Modi from the government to bring the CK Raut-led regional party into the Cabinet.
Earlier, the party’s Abdul Khan had been appointed minister of water supply in the last week of January. He, however, stepped down within two months after his party expressed dissatisfaction with the prime minister, saying that it was not given the ministries that it demanded. The party, however, hadn’t withdrawn its support to the government.
