The deputy Minister of Economy, Abdul Latif Nazari, said that nearly 220 aid organizations have been closed within the last year.

Nazari said that the operations of these organizations have been halted due to not obeying guidelines.

“If they don’t follow our laws and rules, then their license is cancelled. So, within one year the licenses of 216 organizations with four of them foreign organizations have been cancelled,” Nazari said.

However, he said that the closure of the organizations is not permanent.

“The closure of these organizations will not be permanent. When they meet our conditions and consider our rules, the Ministry of Economy will grant licenses to these organizations through a commission,” Nazari said.

This comes as the economists said that these organizations are benefiting the nation and the government and that should be allowed to operate.

“When these organizations don’t act against the national interest of the people of Afghanistan, the continuation of their activities will benefit the people of Afghanistan,” said Farhad Ibrar, an economist.

Citizens of Afghanistan suggested that the existence of aid organizations is important to help the people in need in the country.

Earlier, the Islamic Emirate in reaction to the burning of copies of the holy Quran in Sweden, halted all kinds of operations of Sweden in Afghanistan.
