MoI Denies Presence of Terrorist Groups in Afghanistan:

Report in TOLOnews Online, June 19, 2023 at 9:20 PM
The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that there are no insurgent groups, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, in Afghanistan.

Speaking at a press conference in Kabul, the spokesman, Abdul Matin Qani, said that the Islamic Emirate wants to have good relations with the world.

He also denied the presence of Daesh in Afghanistan.

“The policy of the Islamic Emirate is to have good relations with neighbors and the world, including the US, but within national interests and Islamic interest. We have pledged with the international community that the Afghan soil will not be used against any country and there is no terrorist group in the country,” he said.

Qani also briefed the media about the recent visits of the acting Minister of Interior, Sirajuddin Haqqani, to the northern provinces.

This comes as many countries have repeatedly voiced concerns about the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan.

Referring to the relocation of Waziristani refugees to the other areas of the country, Qani said that negotiations are underway with the International Organization for Migration to address the concerns in this regard.

“The issue of migration is a separate issue. To address this problem, we will have an understanding with Pakistan and the International Organization for Migration so that these concerns are solved,” he said.

This comes as the acting Minister of Interior, Sirajuddin Haqqani, visited the northern provinces of the country recently.
