LAHORE: An official of the Special Branch of the Police Punjab was allegedly shot at and injured by unidentified car riders near the Sherpao Bridge in Gulberg here on Tuesday.
Police said the car riders had exchanged harsh words with the Special Branch police officials, including Imran and Sabir, over a petty matter. They opened fire and injured Imran and fled the scene, abandoning their car on the road. Imran was shifted to hospital.
The police reached the site, seized the car and launched further investigation.
