DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Police repulsed an attack on a security checkpoint in Hathala Tuesday late night.
Police officials said the armed terrorists attacked the Hathala post of Kulachi police station and exchanged fire with security forces for half an hour. A heavy contingent of police reached the spot and returned fire, forcing the attackers to flee, they added. They said police launched a search operation in the area.
This was the third such attack on police check-posts in D.I. Khan during the last 48 hours.
