PESHAWAR: The station house officer of the Mattani police station here sustained bullet injuries when unknown motorcyclists opened fire in a bazaar on Friday.
The police station’s additional Muharrar Noor Zeb said SHO Imranuddin was patrolling in the area when armed motorcyclists opened fire, injuring him and a passer-by.
“Both the police officer and the passerby were immediately shifted to a local hospital, where they are out of danger,” Mr Zeb said, adding a search operation had been launched to trace the attackers.
On July 28, two policemen were martyred and in-charge of a police post was injured when unknown attackers opened fire on a police patrol in the provincial capital.
