Ministry of Defense reported 29 Taliban were killed in an Afghan National Army operation in Zherai and Panjwai districts of Kandahar province.
“They were planning to attack ANDSF positions” when the Taliban fighters were targeted by the Afghan security forces, MoD stated.
In a separate incident on Friday, at least 7 Taliban members were killed in Naw-Abad village of Nad-Ali district in Helmand province.
The Taliban militants were targeted before they could attack ANDSF positions in the region, MoD added “they were planning to attack ANDSF positions”.
MoD also stated, during the AAF airstrikes 4 Al-Qaeda and 15 Taliban members were killed and three others were wounded in the Nawa district of Helmand Province.
11 other Taliban group members were killed and 3 were wounded in 4 other airstrikes in the same region.
This comes as the Afghan Ministry of Defense in a separate tweet said, 2 Taliban including one of the group’s commander were killed and three others were arrested in Ishkamish District of Takhar province.Taliban fighters inflicted the loss when they were planning their offensives against ANDSF positions.
