QUETTA: Frontier Corps personnel travelling in two vehicles escaped a bomb attack in the Brewery Road area on Friday, police said.
They added that a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) was used to carry out the attack when the FC vehicles were passing through the Brewery and Esa Nagri roads interaction.
The IED, weighing around seven kilogrammes, was buried along the roadside, the police said. “FC soldiers remained unhurt in the IED blast,” a senior police officer said, adding that the vehicle was damaged.
Soon after the blast, police and FC personnel rushed to the site, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the miscreants.
