LARKANA: Relatives and supporters of a victim, who was stripped naked and subjected to torture in public for plucking flowers in an influential person’s guesthouse, took out a procession and staged a demonstration outside local press club on Sunday in protest against police failure to arrest the remaining two tormentors nominated in FIR of the incident.
Amir Bakhsh Kandhiro, father of the victim Rustam Kandhiro, who led the protest, said that police were treating Farman Abro and Javed Khokhar, two suspects in the case arrested a day before, like their personal guests at the police station while the two others Muzzamil Abro and Ali Dino Khokhar were yet to be arrested.
He said that the tormentors not only severely beaten his son after stripping him naked but also humiliated him during his brief captivity and filmed the shameful episode, which they uploaded on social media.
He said the SSP had taken notice of the viral video and ordered action against the suspects. The suspects were now pressing for settling the matter out of court and issuing them threats while police showed little interest in bringing all the suspects to justice, he said.
The protestors appealed to Sindh chief minister, Inspector General of Police, DIG and SSP of Larkana to provide justice to the victim and warned to broaden the protest in case police delayed arresting the suspects still at large…..
