SWABI: The people of Bamkhel union council here on Friday staged a demonstration to protest registration of FIR against Ihsanul Haq Bamkhelvi, the president of the Swabi Union of Journalists.
After the Friday prayers, the people gathered in the main bazaar and marched to the Karnal Sher Khan Chowk, covering a distance of 6km while holding placards inscribed with different slogans.
Ihsanul Haq was arrested three days ago when an FIR was registered against him on the complaint of district education officer, female, for allegedly misbehaving with her office staff.
Later, he was released on bail by a court.
The protesters said the mediapersons should be allowed to perform their professional duties without any hindrance, and security should be provided to them.
