Three active members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were arrested from Chapainawabganj.
A team of RAB-5 arrested them in the early hours of Tuesday. Several Jihadi books were recovered from them at that time.
The arrested are- Jahangir Alam, 43, Moazzem Hossain, 30 and Rahmat Ali, 47, all hailing from Shibganj upazila of the district.
Rajshahi RAB-5 Commander Lt Col Mahbubul Alam said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rajshahi RAB-5 conducted a drive in Purbapara area of Durgapur in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila and arrested Rahmat Ali.
“Later, based on Rahmat’s information, the rest of the JMB members were arrested from Chakla area of Shibganj upazila. Several Jihadi books were seized from them,” said Mahbubul.
