Dhaka: Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said there is no need of declaring any programme centering the verdict of BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia’s graft case.
“In view of their activities and statements, it seems that BNP want to create hit-up the political field centering the verdict of Zia Orphanage Corruption case…but we would not fall into the trap,” he told a meeting in front of party office in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.
Awami Jubo League Dhaka South city unit organized the meeting protesting the BNP’s terrorists and militant activities.
Quader said, “We would not declare any counter programme centering the graft case verdict as we are in power under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina…we will face any situation in cool headed.”
He said the law enforcing agencies would do everything to protect the common people’s lives and their properties if BNP want to create unstable situation centering the verdict.
Quader said that the BNP itself gave a verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust Graft case before the court verdict by changing Clause 7 of the party constitution.
As per the clause of the constitution of BNP, Quader said, no corrupt person or terrorist cannot be a member of the party. If Khaleda is convicted by the court, she cannot remain as a member of BNP.
