Naogaon: Detectives have detained five suspected member of the new faction of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (New JMB) from Naoduli village in Naogaon district.
The suspected militants were detained with firearms and ammunition early Thursday.
Atrai police station Office-in-Charge (OC) Akram Hossain said: “Acting on a tip-off, Detective Branch of Police conducted a drive in the area with the help of local police and detained them.
“Two pistols, 13 rounds of bullets, a magazine and grenade making equipment were recovered from their possession.”
According to RAB, Sarwar Jahan alias Abdur Rahman alias Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif was the chief of New JMB while Gulshan attack mastermind Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury was the second-in-command of the group. www.dhakatribune.com/bangladesh/crime/2017/11/16/5-suspected-new-jmb-members-held/
