6 Public Uprising Force Members Killed in Herat Car Bomb Attack

At least six public uprising force members were killed and four more were wounded in a car bomb attack on a security outpost in the western province of Herat on Wednesday night, source confirmed.

The attack took place in Qudus Abad village in Kohsan district of the province on Wednesday night when a car bomb happened close to a security outpost followed by clashes between the Taliban the forces, Herat governor Sayed Waheed Qatali said.

“The clashes continued for several hours,” he said, but did not provide details about the casualties.

Taliban banned ‘foreign fighters’ from joining its ranks

Taliban ordered to exclude foreign militants from their ranks and failure to go against the rule will result in dismissal.

In a statement, the Taliban directed all its members that no one is allowed to arbitrarily let foreign foreigners join the group or give them shelter.

The statement added, that if any of Taliban members are proven to be involved in such activities will be “dismissed”, and their groups will be disbanded and for further punishment be referred to the military commission.

Recently Ministry of Defense stated on Sunday, that during a night raid ten Taliban fighters including four Pakistanis were killed in Arghistan district of Kandahar.

However, the Taliban spokesman denied the report and told the media that no Pakistani nationals fight alongside the group.

42 Taliban killed in Kandahar: MoD

The Ministry of Defense on Wednesday stated that 42 Taliban fighters were killed in the Mianshin, Panjwai, and Arghandab districts of Kandahar province.

MoD in a released statement said Afghan national defense and security forces backed by air support launched an operation in three districts of southern Kandahar province.

During the clashes 42 Taliban were killed, 8 wounded also the group’s stronghold, four motorbikes, and some of their weapons and ammunition were wrecked in the operations.

According to the statement, defense forces discovered and defused 35 various types of IEDs and mines in the Arghandab and Maiwand districts of the province by doing so the Afghan forces prevented major casualties and saved dozens of innocent lives.

This comes as one policeman was killed and four others were injured in a Taliban offensive in Nurgaram district of Nuristan on Tuesday night

Local sources told the media that if reinforcements are not sent, the Taliban will take over the center of the district and accused government officials of not being attentive to the security situation in the region.

Taliban and government officials have not yet commented on the incident.
