3 ISIS loyalists surrender to Afghan army after killing 4 Taliban militants By KHAAMA PRESS – Sun May 01 2016

A group of 3 loyalists of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group surrendered to the Afghan armed forces after killing 4 Taliban insurgents.

According to the local officials in eastern Kunar province, the militants surrendered to the Afghan army in Marwara district.

Provincial governor Wahidullah Kalimzai said the militants were operating for the ISIS terrorist group in Marwara district.

He said two of the militants are hailing from Bajaur Agency of Pakistan while the third militant is originally a resident of Marwara district.

Kalimizai welcomed the militants for renouncing violence and said they have surrendered to the Afghan armed forces by reaching to a conclusion that the terror groups are only killing their fellow Muslims and are committing atrocities.

This comes as there are concerns that the loyalists of the terror group are attempting to expand foothold in Afghanistan despite the terror group received a major blow in eastern Nangarhar province.

The militants of the terror group were hardly hit by the US airstrikes as well as the Afghan air and ground operations in parts of Nangarhar province amid concerns that they were establishing a regional operations base and consolidate operations with the terror group based in Syria and Iraq.

Hundreds of militants loyal to the terror group were killed or wounded as US Air Force increased air raids which followed by more authorities granted by the Obama administration earlier this year.http://www.khaama.com/3-isis-loyalists-surrender-to-afghan-army-after-killing-4-taliban-militants-0805
