The bodies of 18 fighters of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) who were killed in drone strikes in Afghanistan have been returned and buried inside Pakistan.

Reports suggest that the dead bodies were buried in villages located near the Afghan border.

14 of them reportedly belonged to Mehsud tribe and four others to Ahmadzai Wazir tribe.

According to Azadi Radio’s affiliate Mashaal Radio, the militants were killed in two drone strikes in Gomal District of Paktika province which is located on the border with Pakistan.

Nabiullah Peerkhil, spokesperson for the governor of Paktika province has told Mashaal Radio that the militants were killed in Swak area while crossing the border into Afghanistan earlier this week.

Peerkhil has further said that a vehicle laden with explosives was also destroyed in the drone strikes.

Sources close to TTP have told Mashaal Radio that the militants killed were members of the group led by Sayed Khan Sajna who has a compound across the border in the Beermal area of Waziristan.

This comes less than three months after a big batch of dead bodies returned to Pakistan.

The 22 militants belonging to al-Badar Mujahideen and Jamat-ud-Dawah were killed in military operations of Afghan forces in Khost province.http://www.khaama.com/18-ttp-militants-killed-in-afghanistan-buried-in-pakistan-4541
