1 killed, 3 Wounded in Farah’s Anardara Attacks

At least one policeman was killed in a Taliban attack in Farah province on Monday morning.

Mohibullah Mohib, a spokesman to Farah Police HQ, told Khaama Press that prior to the clashes a Humvee type vehicle loaded with explosive wanted to target district police headquarters in Anardara of Faryab province, but was detonated before reaching its target.

Mohib Added, following the explosion, the Taliban initiated their offensives in which a government security member was killed and three others were wounded.

According to the provincial police spokesman, the incident happened at around 6:30 am on Monday.

Afghan defense forces rebuffed the militant’s attack, during the skirmish four Taliban fighters were also killed and eight others were wounded, Mohib added.

The situation is said to have been under the control of Afghan national security forces.

Taliban have not yet commented on the attack.

This comes as 11 Al-Qaeda members and Two Taliban commanders were killed during AAF airstrikes in Helmand province, MoD stated.

MoD said, the airstrikes took place in the Nawa district of the Helmand province, the fighters killed during the air raid, were involved in training the Taliban affiliated members in making bombs.

Massoud Ahmad an Al-Qaeda facilitator is also among the dead, MoD said in a statement.
