United Nations in a statement published on Wednesday, October 6 said that their aid agencies and NGOs are racing against the time to deliver life-saving aid to crisis-affected people in Afghanistan and called on other donors to turn their pledges into reality.
The statement reads that millions of people in Afghanistan have been affected by decades of war. Failing health system, displacement, chronic poverty, COVID19, severe drought, and falling economic situation that need urgent humanitarian aids.
The UN has also expressed concern over the violation of rights of the women, children, and minorities and pledged to spare no aid to these people affected.
The UN has asked for the safe and secure movement of the aid workers and for the inclusivity of their aid assistant where the women should be guaranteed to work across the country.
It has also warned that the situation of the people of Afghanistan will worsen if the de facto authorities, the UN member states, donors, humanitarian organizations, and other stakeholders do not mobilize and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan.
