A policeman was shot dead and two others were injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them on Sunday night.
The attack took place in the limits of Golra police where the bike riders opened fire on a police patrolling van, injuring three police personnel. They were taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where Head Constable Mohammad Qasim died. The condition of Sub-Inspector Mohammad Jamil and Constable Qasir Abbas was stated to be stable.
Police said the three officials were on a routine night checking at Container Chowk, Sector G-13, when they signalled a motorcycle to stop. Instead of pulling up, the bike riders opened fire on the police party, injuring the three officials.

Blast outside DSP office injures four children in Ghotki

An explosion outside the office of the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Ghotki’s Ubauro, injured four children on Sunday.
According to the sources shared by police, children were playing with a box near the official’s office when the blast happened. They were boarded to the hospitals and are under critical medical treatment.
Moreover the law and order authorities including police, rangers and bomb disposal squad are still working to scrutinise the culprit and their plot.
The senior superintendent of police (SSP) confirmed the incident and has started the probe.

SHO martyred in armed ambush

Rawalpindi – A police officer was martyred in a suspected targeted attack in heavily guarded area of Katcheri, informed sources on Sunday.
They added that Inspector Mian Imran Abbas, who was posted as Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station (PS) Race Course, was attacked by two unknown miscreants riding a motorcycle near Gymkhana at Katcheri.
The tragic incident took place in precincts of PS Civil Lines, sources said adding that the injured cop was rushed to emergency of Fauji Foundation Hospital where he embraced martyrdom due to fatal bullet injury. The attackers managed to escape from the scene, sources said. A heavy contingent of police including City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas, SSP Operations Shohaib Mehmood, SSP Investigation Faisal Kamran, SSP Potohar Division Syed Ali, ASP Civil Lines Circle Faryal, SHO PS Civil Lines SI Ahsan Tanvir Kiani and personnel of other law enforcement agencies rushed to the crime scene and later visited hospital.
According to sources, Inspector Mian Imran Abbas was travelling in a car along with wife and kids near Gymkhana, Punjab House when two unidentified miscreants riding on a motorcycle arrived there. “The gunmen came near to driving door of car and opened firing on Inspector Mian Imran Abbas. A bullet pierced his neck,” they said adding the attackers fled from scene.
Mian Imran Abbas sustained a critical bullet wound into neck and embraced martyrdom, they said.
The family of inspector remained unhurt, they said.
“The maimed police officer was moved to FFH after being shot in the neck in what police are calling an ambush,” said another source.
A police spokesman shared with media, “SHO PS Inspector Mian Imran Abbas got martyrdom after a deadliest armed attack by miscreants. Police are investigating the matter.”
Meanwhile, the police cordoned off the area and investigators of HIU have collected evidences from the crime scene. They also obtained CCTV footage from the crime scene, which might help them identify the culprits.
