Chapainawabganj: Five suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) have been detained from Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
The identities detainees could not immediately be ascertained.
Chapainawabganj RAB 5 Squadron Leader Mohammad Sayed Abdullah Al-Murad said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a drive in Bajitpur area and detained them.
“They are active members of JMB.”
The elite force members also recovered two firearms, two magazines, seven rounds of bullets, 800g gun powder, bomb making equipment, and jihadi books in the drive.
Details regarding the matter will be disclosed in a press briefing later in the day.
