Start election dialogue or face movement, the BNP tells AL government

The BNP has threatened to launch a movement if the government does not start a dialogue to make sure the next election is “participatory”.

“We prefer to sit for talks over any movement,” said BNP vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu addressing a human chain demonstration in Dhaka on Tuesday.

“We will be forced to start a movement if the government, instead of starting talks, continues to suppress leaders of the opposition.”

He criticised politicians of the ruling Awami League, who he said, have been spreading lies about BNP Chairman Khaleda Zia’s ongoing UK visit.

“She (Khaleda) is there for medical treatment. Now some quarters are making up stories about that,” he said.

“Our party chief is touring London to dismantle a dictator and bring back democracy. She is making use of her time meant for treatment. There is no scope for rumours here.”http://bdnews24.com/politics/2017/07/25/start-election-dialogue-or-face-movement-the-bnp-tells-al-government
