Over 100 people from Punjab have left to fight for ISIS: Sanaullah Report in the Nation, January 04, 2016,

Faisalabad: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanullah revealed that according to investigations around 100 people have gone to Iraq and Syria to join ISIS. He was talking to the media in Faisalabad.

The minister further stated that numbers from other provinces are in thousands. “Our security agencies are working really hard to curb this disease,” he said. “We will not let in spread in Punjab or Pakistan,” he claimed.

“The People arrested from Daska have told us that they used to be workers of Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD),” the minister told the media. “But JuD has said that the organization do not have any relation with these individuals now,” he stated.

Sanaullah further said women who have gone to Syria are from Al-Huda maddrassa. “This is a new lot, which has extremism in their minds. They were related to religious parties and now wanted to go to Syria. But they have been arrested,”’ the minister added.

Rana Sanuallah has claimed that 42 persons have been arrested under suspicion of being related to ISIS. “The Islamabad leader Ameer Mansoor, his deputy Abdullah Mansoori and Sindh head are included in the arrested,” he stated. “They were arrested from four cities of Punjab between Saturday and Sunday night,” he added.

According to the law minister the arrested were responsible for establishing ISIS sleeper cells in the province. “The propaganda material and weapons have also been found during these raids,” he told media.
