LAHORE – Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that the Wapda has been asked to complete land acquisition for Diamar Bhasha Dam by December this year.
He said that present government by constructing Kalabagh Dam cannot take any step which may lead to creating any issue relating to integrity of the country.
Speaking at a function organized by Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP), he said that govt has to increase water storage capacity and power generation for optimum utilization. He added that present government was taking several steps for enhancing storage of water in the country.
Amir Zamir Khan, Secretary General IEP said seats for engineers should be designated under the new local government system. He also demanded of the government to take immediate step for formulating service structure for engineers. Jamshed Rizvi said engineering community would support government in its endeavor to resolve energy crisis in the country.
