Kasuri to head PTI Task Force on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Friday constituted a Task Force on Kashmir (TFK) headed by former Foreign Minister Mian Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri in a bid to internationally highlight the dispute befittingly and enhance awareness about the issue within the country, The News has learnt.

A political veteran and diplomatic powerhouse in his own right, Mian Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri was appointed as the task force’s chairman. PTI Chairman Imran Khan made the announcement after extensive deliberations with party leaders on Friday.

Imran Khan also announced Khurshid Kasuriís position as a senior advisor of the political and international affairs of the PTI, adding that he believed the former foreign minister will render invaluable advice to the party on vital political and global issues.

Mian Khurshid Kasuri, who served the country as foreign minister during crucial periods in previous governments and undertook several missions with regard to Pakistanís international ties, has several core achievements to his credit.

In response to Fridayís announcement, he thanked PTI Chief Imran Khan for reposing confidence in him, and reassured the party leader that he would live up to the expectations of the party.
