‘Include GB rep in dialogue process’

Skardu: Balawaristan National Front, Baltistan chapter, has supported the proposal of President Asif Ali Zardari to restart peace process with India. It demanded that the true representatives of the people of Kashmir and Balawaristan should be included in any future dialogue with India.

These observations came at a meeting of the BNF in Skardu which was presided over by BNF divisional president Mehdi Akmal. The party’s senior vice-president Syed Hyder Shah Rizvi was chief guest on the occasion.

The meeting decided to launch a membership drive and open unit offices of the party in whole Baltistan. It was  decided that a peace rally called Karwan Dawat-e-Inqilab would be taken out from Kharmang soon.

The meeting also decided to field candidates of the party from all areas of Baltistan for the next elections in cooperation with all other like-minded parties.

The speakers made it clear that not only the construction of Diamer Dam but also that of other small and big dams in the region was illegal and unconstitutional. They condemned proposal to levy tax on the people of the region and termination of services of staff on contract in education, NAPWD and other departments in the region.
