PESHAWAR – Awami National Party (ANP) local leader Raheem Barkzai was killed in firing on his vehicle here on Saturday.
Another man injured in firing. Police managed to arrest three attackers.
Police said that armed men ambushed vehicle of ANP leader Raheem Barkzai in Mithra locality of the provincial capital Peshawar.
Raheem Barkzai died on the spot in firing while another sustained wounds who was rushed to hospital for treatment.

On October 6, 2016, the Supreme Court of Pakistan constituted an inquiry commission on the Aug 8, 2016 incidents that killed Advocate Bilal Kasi and at least 70 people at the Sandeman Civil Hospital, Quetta. The single member commission, led by Justice Qazi Faez Isa, was designed to “look into from all the relevant aspects of this multi-dimensional tragedy.” The inquiry commission worked from October 17 to December 14, 2016, and produced a comprehensive inquiry report.

BARKHAN – The security personnel arrested five terrorists of a banned outfit besides recovering weapons and explosives during a crackdown here on Wednesday. FC spokesman said the paramilitary troops and sensitive agencies personnel conducted joint operation against the extremists in Karmi area of district Barkhan. Karachi: A judicial magistrate recorded the confessional statements of two suspected Lashkar-e-Jhangvi terrorists, Asim alias Kapri and Ishaq alias Bobby, who told him that they had killed paramilitary soldiers and Military Police personnel in Ittehad Town and Saddar.

WANA: In what could be described as a deadly mix-up, four people were killed when security personnel opened fire on their vehicle in Barmalzai tehsil of South Waziristan Agency on Monday.
The security forces opened fire on a suspected vehicle on an unfrequented route near the Barmalzai Fort, leaving four persons dead. LANDI KOTAL: Twelve suspected militants were killed in air strikes in Khyber Agency’s Tirah valley on Sunday.
Official sources said the air strikes were conducted in Rajgal valley, a forested area in the Kukikhel tribal region, near the border with Afghanistan.
They said the air strikes were ordered after a tip-off about the presence of militants in hideouts under the thick forest of Rajgal.
