Bangladesh has proposed new regional connectivity initiatives to India at the fourth Joint Consultative Commission meeting led by two foreign ministers.
After the meeting on Sunday, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali in his statement said India agreed to “positively consider” these proposals.
He praised India as the “most important, trusted and friendly” neighbour.
His Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj said both countries achieved “a great deal, only because of the friendship between us and our understanding that neighbours must help each other.”

The Awami League has proposed the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the 11th parliamentary election, which is likely to be held between late 2018 and early 2019.
The ruling party made the demand as part of its 11-point proposal laid before the Election Commission during a pre-polls dialogue on Wednesday.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has landed in the country after a 96-day trip to London for her medical treatment.
The Emirates flight carrying Khaleda landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 5:10pm on Wednesday.
