by Alice Yan in South China Morning Post, Aug 9, 2017
A young woman looking for a job in southwest China collapsed unconscious in the street after she ran out of money and hadn’t eaten for several days, according to a newspaper report.
Two police officers in Guiyang in Guizhou province found the woman lying on the ground surrounded by pedestrians on Monday, the Guiyang Evening News reported.
The officers managed to revive the unnamed woman in her 20s who said she was from the small city of Xingyi in Guizhou and had spent all her money looking for work.
One officer, touched by her story, gave her 200 yuan (US$30) and told her to contact her family, according to the article.

Internet users sympathised with the woman, saying the incident reminded them of their own experiences and difficulties in looking for work.
“We should praise this girl because she’d rather starve instead of doing bad things,” one person commented.
Another wrote: “It’s hard for people from poor families to survive in this society.”
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security says the rate of unemployment in urban areas across the country was 3.95 per cent in the second quarter of this year, but some experts argue the real figure may be higher.http://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/2106035/chinese-jobless-woman-collapses-hunger-street
