Alleged LeT member arrested in Afghanistan: Report in The News, July 29, 2016

PESHAWAR: 1The Afghan police claimed to have arrested an alleged member of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in restive Kandahar province on Tuesday.

Spokesman for the Kandahar Police, Zia Durrani, told the Afghan Islamic Press that Amir Saeed, a key member of LeT hailing from Hyderabad in Pakistan, was detained in the limits of 9th police district in Kandahar city. “Amir Saeed confessed to have carried out terror operations in Kandahar and attacks on Afghan forces in Maiwand district,” he added.

The spokesman said the alleged militant had received terror training at a seminary in Pakistan. He claimed that the police recovered a Pakistani national identity card from Saeed.
