ANGOOR ADDA: Pakis­tan is confident that a pair of nine-foot chicken wire fences topped with barbed wire will stop incursions by militants from Afghanistan, which opposes Islamabad’s plans for a barrier along the frontier.
Pakistan plans to fence up most of the 2,500km frontier despite Kabul’s protests that the barrier would divide families and friends along the Pashtun tribal belt straddling the colonial-era Durand line drawn up by the British in 1893.

The Awami League has proposed the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the 11th parliamentary election, which is likely to be held between late 2018 and early 2019.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has landed in the country after a 96-day trip to London for her medical treatment.
The Emirates flight carrying Khaleda landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 5:10pm on Wednesday.
