Paktika provincial officials said that heavy clashes are underway between security forces and the Taliban in Omna district of Paktika province. The clash broke out Sunday morning when dozens of Taliban insurgents attacked the district, officials said. Taliban have reportedly captured several villages in the district. Meanwhile the provincial spokesman said that security forces had made a tactical retreat.
